Tech Tips: How to share your WhatsApp Status on Facebook

WhatsApp

Earlier this year, Facebook announced its plans of integrating all its services – Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram – in a way that they offer a unified experience to users who visit any of the four service. The integration is not only aimed to help users move to and fro between Facebook and its family of apps more swifty but it is also aimed at helping the social media giant thwart a potential move by the government of breaking up big tech companies – an idea that has gained wide popularity in the US ever since the scathes of privacy and data scandals made their way into public light.

Facebook made the first move in this direction by introducing ‘WhatsApp by Facebook’ branding in the beta version of WhatsApp last month. Now the company is taking a bigger and a bolder step in this direction by offering features that allow WhatsApp users to share their Status updates on Facebook from within the app. Meaning? People who wish to share their WhatsApp Status as Facebook Story don’t have to open Facebook separately and go through the tedious process of adding filters, stickers and texts. They can do so simply by press a button…well…a couple of buttons.

For those of you who don’t know WhatsApp Status or Facebook Story (or Instagram Story) are all images or texts or videos that disappear within 24 hours of sharing them.

Now, as I mentioned before, this feature to share WhatsApp Status as Facebook Story is available on both the stable version of WhatsApp Android and iOS based apps. All you need to do is follow these steps:

— Share a status on WhatsApp.

— Tap on the Status that you want to share on Facebook.

— Tap on the three dots on the right end of your WhatsApp Status.

— Tap on Share to Facebook option.

— Now, WhatsApp will ask you for permission to access Facebook. Tap on Open option.

— Tap on Share Now option to share the Status as Facebook Story.

If you are using an iPhone, Facebook will ask you for permission to open WhatsApp. Tap Open to grant Facebook the required permission and you are good to go.
