Apex Legends getting Solos Mode for limited time
Apex Legends is set to get a Solos Mode for a limited time from August 13.
Respawn Entertainment has announced the new mode — which will enable playing the battle royale game alone — is coming for a week as The Iron Crown Collection Event.
A tweet from PlayApex reads: “Next week, only one can reign.”
A member of the team behind the popular title has suggested that it could become a permanent fixture in the future.
Community Manager, Jay Frechette, wrote on Reddit: “On 8/13 we’ll be trying out a Solos Mode in Apex for a limited time. We’ll talk more about Solos when it’s live and you’ve had a chance to play it.
“For now we’re going to put it out there and see what happens and what kind of feedback we get.”
Former Counter-Strike pro and gaming streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiak, however, doesn’t believe that the Solos mode will be any good.
Per Dot Esports, Shroud was quoted to say that Apex Legend’s character abilities might not be balanced out, as the game is crafted for three-player team plays.
“I think it will come out for a limited time for two weeks, people are going to try it, [and] they’re going to hate it. Then [Respawn] will pull it and they probably won’t do it again.”
